Covington - Martha Jane Piearcen, 84, a life resident of Highland Township in Vermillion County and Fulton Township in Fountain County died Friday in the Small Nursing Home at Waynetown, where she had been the last several years. A daughter of Marquess Lafayette and Nancy Shannon Prevo, she was born Aug 22, 1886 near Perrysville. She married Clarence William Piearcen on Sept 19, 1906. He died Feb 14, 1964. Surviving is a foster son, Warren Meeker of Oceanside, Calif. Mrs. Piearcen was a member of the Cauyga Presbyterian Church and Evergreen Cap 1652 of Royal Neighbors of America at Gessie. Funeral services will be conducted 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with burial in Lower Mound Cemetery. - kbz
